In recent years, building a smart city and promoting the development of cities and towns have been included in the important work of the state. According to the super smart city report, more than 1000 smart cities have been launched or are under construction in the world, and 500 are under construction in China, far exceeding Europe (90), which ranks second. In terms of the distribution of smart cities under construction, China has initially formed four smart city clusters around the Bohai Sea, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta and the central and western regions.

The three prominent contradictions are the great consumption of energy, the high maintenance cost of lighting lamps and the incompatibility with other public equipment. The emergence of smart lighting will undoubtedly greatly change this situation and effectively promote the process of smart city.

With the development of cities around the world, the number of street lamps is expected to reach 350 million by 2025. According to the report "global smart city 2017" released by IDC, by 2019, China will replace more than 30 million LED street lamps, with an expenditure of 100 billion yuan.
